Lviv is a famous Ukrainian city with the everlasting aroma of coffee and chocolate! Coffee and chocolate is loved and prepared here in a special way all Ukrainians think of as unique to Lviv. Every year at the end of September, the Lviv Coffee Festival takes place, which gathers several hundred thousand visitors from around the world.
This year I was lucky to go there for the first time during the coffee festival. I had a mission from Kava-Zone to find out as much I could about the roasting coffee beans, to get acquainted with such equipment and accessories, and also to just discuss the pleasant topics of coffee.
There were many events and competitions; during the fest, cafes installed mini-versions of their establishments at the coffee fairgrounds. A large part of the festival area was occupied by sellers of souvenirs and sweets and frankly coffee equipment, one might say, was not represented at all apart from two exhibitors, Toper and Galka Trading Company. I was pleased with Galka Trading, which presented an unusual mini-roaster (see picture below). The guys were happy to talk about all the processes of work and just talked about coffee in general.
The city itself offers many, many coffee and chocolate cafes. I would like to mention a couple of places that correspond to my theme of the trip: “the freshest coffee”, and those are the Lviv coffee factory, “Golden Ducat” and, of course, “Lviv Coffee Room.” Regardless of the purpose of the trip, expectations and the reality you encounter, there is always a place in Lviv that will always give you a fresh cup of delicious coffee and some tasty chocolates!
